documentaire: World Of Skinhead

Since it was first shown controversially on Channel 4 back in the mid-90s, Doug Aubrey's seminal film, World of Skinhead has variously been maligned and attacked by the extreme right and the left alike, celebrated as a seminal work on a youth sub-cult and gone on to gain global cult-status among skinheads and non skinheads alike.

Ten years after it was first shown, World of Skinhead's real achievement has been to paint a warts n' all portrait of one of the world’s most notorious youth sub-cults, which has gone on to provide inspiration for fictional projects on skinheads, such as American History X.

World of Skinhead was a Pictorial Heroes production funded by Channel 4 and was made in association with legendary skinhead author, George Marshall.

Here for the first time on DVD is the digitally mastered version of the film, including a Director's commentary in which Aubrey talks about the making of the film and the skinheads he met while filming in the UK, USA, Scandinavia and Germany.
